Boddington’s Brewery.  This CD features interviews with Managing Director Maurice Richardson and researcher Neil Richardson.

Also from the brewery, clerk Ray Richardson, drayman John Raymond Grice and second brewer Ian Kendal.

After the Whitbread take over, Boddingtons turned themselves into a pub and leisure group.  However, the end finally came when they were taken over by Greenalls (they had dropped the Whitley) in 1995 … and are sadly no more.

Hydes’ Anvil Brewery Ltd, 46, Moss Lane West, Manchester.  Features include interviews with Chairman and joint Managing Director Neil Hyde, who shares the position with his brother Christopher, Head Brewer Gordon Bailey, Brewery Foreman Arthur Smith, Area Supervisor Bill Jackson, and tenant Gerald Fane.

Hydes’ is still a family-controlled traditional brewery with 62 tied houses (2001)
